Thursday school day - double hooray!

For the parents of course. And about time too. Though the layer of snow outside this morning didn't signal anything good for my back. I am the unofficial snow slayer in this family. Oh well, I will have to trick my husband into shoveling this time, when he arouses from his afternoon stupor. Maybe the kids can help him, when they return from school. I'm going for an evening shift of at least 5 hours of a slavery in a restaurant kitchen, so I don't need any muscle warming exercises in snow before that. Kids were hoping for another day off, but their hopes were dashed when the cross guard appeared with his STOP on a stick. My amazing girl amazed me this morning, when she dropped her empty cereal bowl on a chair and was quite surprised when the bowl departed into the porcelain hereafter. I didn't comment on it, except making sure she didn't cut herself, as she managed to do yesterday evening, when she knocked over her dad's glass water bottle into the bathroom sink, and too late tried to grab and save it. Now I wonder what the third broken thing will be. She was saying the other day something about a geography test coming up soon and as far as I know, she didn't study very hard. My son was supposed to hand in a book order today, but I trust him with these things. He knows it was the last day to order, so it would be his loss. He and his sister ordered books and stuff, as if I was made of money. Luckily I usually manage to loose those book order sheets, before they have a chance to look through them and want something. So long, some unpaid jobs are calling for my attention at home.
